The most important thing here is that the fillers should be injected into the correct plan, that is, on the bone and cartilage, and especially superficial injection should be avoided. Especially patients with thin skin are more at risk. Patient selection is very important. The most important thing is to perform this procedure by hands that know the anatomy of the nose very well and are experienced in rhinoplasty.
Many products are used for this purpose. The relatively safest of these are filling materials containing hyaluronic acid (such as Juvederm, Restylene). Permanent fillers should be avoided for rhinoplasty. Fillers containing hyaluronic acid can be permanent for approximately 6-12 months depending on their content. However, many physicians think that this period may be longer.
Most of the fillers used contain local anaesthetic. In addition, creams and ice application to be applied to the area will eliminate the pain that will occur during the procedure. If necessary, nasal filling can be performed without pain with simple local anaesthesia.
Nasal filling procedure takes approximately 15-20 minutes. You can return to work immediately after the nasal filling procedure.
After the nasal filling, the filling used for rhinoplasty surgery should be expected to dissolve. Early surgery before the filling disappears may adversely affect the result. The waiting period for surgery after nasal filling should be at least 6 months to 1 year depending on the product used and the injection plan. Considering that nasal fillers are more permanent, it may be safer to extend this period.
Minor irregularities, asymmetries and depressions that occur after nasal surgery can be solved with nasal fillers without the need for revision surgery. Good results can be obtained with fillers containing hyaluronic acid in the correction of simple deformities that develop after nose surgery with a 15-20 minute procedure under office conditions. Thus, revision surgery can be prevented. However, the procedure is permanent for about 12 months. However, the filling process should be performed much more carefully and accurately in operated noses. Filling in areas such as the tip of the nose and wings where the skin is very thin can cause serious problems. For this reason, it is very important that the doctor is knowledgeable about the anatomy of the nose and the blood circulation of the nasal skin.
